Therapy Modalities

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an effective treatment for depression, anxiety and other diagnoses.  It teaches skills for clients to become aware of unhealthy thinking patterns and teaches skills to challenge those thoughts.

Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT uses a combination of mindfulness, cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy. The goal is to transform unhealthy thinking patterns and maladaptive behaviors into positive outcomes.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy is a  treatment approach that was  designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR is a trauma therapy intended to change the way the memory is stored in the brain, which can reduce or eliminate the problematic symptoms.

Relapse Prevention/Harm Reduction

Relapse Prevention tools and Harm Reduction tools are taught to clients struggling with addictive behaviors. A therapist can help a client learn how prior behaviors and triggers lead to addictive patterns and teach clients new skills to decrease or eliminate their substance use.

Mindfulness Training

Mindfulness is the  process of purposely bringing one's attention to experiences happening in the present moment without judgment. A therapist can teach and assist clients in using mindfulness through meditation and psycho-education.
